Boy's Lightning/Tyker Extended Program

The Boy's Lightning/Tyker Extended Program tryouts will be held in the evenings of August 20th and August 27th. Exact time and location will be determined as soon as possible. We encourage you to attend both tryouts. Registering through the Catonsville Lacrosse website www.catonsvillelax.org is mandatory before attending tryouts. We encourage you to register as soon as possible. Lightning Players must be no older than 10 on September 1st 2016 and Tyker players must be no older than 8 on September 1st 2016.

The plan is to field one team in Lightning and Tyker in this expanded season.  Having said this, the number of teams participating in this expanded season will be determined based on the numbers and talent level of interested players.

The expanded season will work as follows:  In addition to the Saturday Maryland Youth Lacrosse Association (MYLA) recreation league that we have traditionally played in, these teams will also play in a Sunday league and several post season tournaments in the month of June.  Players will also be required to pay extra costs in addition to the normal registration fees. The additional cost will be strictly for league and tournament fees, there will be no profits taken by the club and coaches will not be paid.

Prior to tryouts, we?d like everyone to remember this program is intended for kids that love the game and take personal responsibility for making themselves better players. All practices, games and tournaments are mandatory with minimal exception for kids that accept a position on the team.  We encourage any boy in the Tyker or Lightning age group that meets those requirements to attend try outs.

This is a new endeavor for the program. We are starting this at the youngest Boy?s travel groups in hopes it will continue and expand into the older age groups. Our goal is to adapt to the changing lacrosse environment in order to continue the success of the Catonsville Lacrosse Club and make this the best community based lacrosse program in the state of Maryland.
